Dj Omlet: How Kyiv DJ organises goodwill events with free omelettes and electronic music

DJ Ilya Frolov, also known as Frolov, initiated an innovative project known as DJ Omlet, which combines his passion for music with the art of cooking vegan omelettes. Originating from Dnipro, Frolov is renowned for his involvement in the Soul Camp project at Burning Man regional events in Ukraine and for establishing a similarly-themed venue on Trukhaniv Island. As an organizer of the Soul Serenades parties, he promotes electronic music genres like downtempo, ketapop, and multicultural electronica.

During weekends, Frolov transforms into DJ Omlet, blending downtempo music while simultaneously preparing vegan omelettes. He concocts numerous servings of omelettes during his sets, distributing them for free to passersby. This concept emerged from his experience at the Burning Man Precompression regional event in 2019, which upholds the principle of "gifting." Inspired by this ethos, Frolov decided to incorporate his love for omelettes and morning rituals into his DJ performances, offering breakfast to people through his music sets.

The idea of DJ Omlet stemmed from Frolov's fondness for omelettes, appreciating the dish's versatility and the freedom it offers in choosing and combining diverse ingredients. This unique blend of culinary artistry and music showcases his creativity while fostering a sense of community by gifting free meals to those who enjoy his leisurely tunes.
